WInnForum achieves outstanding results by seeking mutual understanding while pooling the technical and use-case experience of its members." ̶ Richard Bernhardt , WISPA Quarterly Infographic Update! Inside the CBRS Ecosystem A quick look into what makes up the Innovation Band produced by the Wireless Innovation Forum Spectrum Sharing Committee Download the infographic here Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) is the 3550-3700 MHz spectrum band allocated for public use by the FCC. The underlying standards for this three-tiered access system have been developed by the Wireless Innovation Forum (WInnForum), a multi-stakeholder group. Click here for a window into the ecosystem. The WInnForum CBRS Baseline Standards Available for Public Download; Enhancements Being Announced Incrementally WInnForum is excited to have produced the full set of specifications required for certification of CBRS equipment as illustrated. WInnForum members have invested thousands of hours and millions of dollars in the development of these standards, policies and procedures. The complete library of approved work products can be found here: Following the completion of Auction 105, SAS Administrators Amdocs, CommScope, Federated Wireless, Google, KeyBridge and Sony, have notified the WInnForum that they have initiated a process to assign frequency channel(s) to each PAL Licensee in each county. To that end, PAL licensees are expected to use a dedicated portal provided by these SAS administrators and provide their preferences to expedite and facilitate the PAL channel mapping process. The SAS Administrators have further notified the WInnForum that they have established a deadline to provide such input is 2/12/2021. All PAL licensees should have received the PAL Channel Assignment Procedure, a set of dedicated username/password, and have been able to access the portal by now. All PAL licensees are encouraged to send email to [email protected] , or contact their SAS administrators, if they have any questions or difficulties. Learn about the Band The Forum hosts webinars and a video blog on various aspects of CBRS. Our upcoming webinars and events are on our events page . . Want to come to the table and help create the standards behind the band? Working groups and their associated task groups develop standards in the phases listed per the SSC Roadmap . To join our current committee members contact WInnForum CEO, [email protected] . CBRS Information and Standards from the Wireless Innovation Forum Spectrum Sharing Committee The Spectrum Sharing Committee (SSC) serves as a common industry and government standards body supporting the development and advancement of CBRS spectrum sharing technologies based on a three-tier architecture as defined under the FCC Part 96 rules. While the main initial focus of SSC is CBRS, the Wireless Innovation Forum aims to advance this technology for all applicable spectrum bands that can benefit from it. The SSC develops solutions and standards that encourage the rapid development of the CBRS ecosystem, protect incumbent operations, and benefit all potential stakeholders in the band.
